Why did you join the Skills Accelerator opportunity?

I had opportunity and had no knowledge of what a digital artisan is. I took a chance and tried to learn each aspect of new skills, life lessons and how it could impact my career and how I have gained a certificates. I am proud of the process I have made and how it has impacted my career. This made me realized the importance of learning and to be ready when opportunities come my way.

How has Skills Accelerator benefited you thus far?

I was excited to develop new sets of skills in designing glide apps, no code websites and in particular one of the toughest projects I've created thus far in the program which was a coding course on FreeCodeCamp. The program also has allowed us to gain knowledge about leadership skills, improving and create better communication, understanding, self-esteem and goals within our work and everything we do.

What were some of your highlights?

My highlights was creating social media content for RLabs Radio and GapX. I enjoyed being involved on the radio show every second week with other interns. My lowlights was being able to see my teammates.

What would you tell unemployed youth about this opportunity?

My advice is to not give up. Make sure you are connected to programs or sites to view job opportunities and that you have all qualifications including your CV updated and ready. Ask family and friends about new jobs.
