Why did you join the Skills Accelerator opportunity?

I saw the amazing work that they do and how they impact the youth (on Facebook).I am all for youth and women empowerment and community empowerment.One of the things that truly makes me happy is putting a smile on of someone else's and by that I mean being able to help someone else.Everyone is facing difficulties that they tell no one about and if I can help them to make the load a little lighter in a positive way than I'm happy.I am a firm believer in spreading kindness around like confetti.

How has Skills Accelerator benefited you thus far?

I honestly have learnt a lot about technology and also about myself. I would say that I really discovered a lot about myself through Leadership.When it comes to technology, my knowledge was very limited.It was almost like a little insecurity that I had because technology evolved a lot from the basics that I knew and people always assumed that I knew a lot about technology for some reason. Skills Accelerator really expanded my knowledge because from what they have taught me, I make it my duty to do more research on what I've learnt and that's how I gain knowledge.

What were some of your highlights?

Leadership sessions was always something I always looked forward to because of the valuable things I learned.Lowlights would probably be Coursera because I liked the course but sometimes it would get quite overwhelming.

What would you tell unemployed youth about this opportunity?

There's no need to great to start, just start to be great.  Don't wait for opportunities, find ways to upskill yourself and create opportunities. There is programs that you can use to study or just upskill your knowledge such as Coursera and Google has amazing educational resources that you can use.You are capable of taking your life from chains to change.You can even freelance because it will count on your cv.
